Official: Azerbaijan to participate in Türkiye’s ethnosport festival
Azerbaijan, Lithuania and Russia have been selected as guest countries for the 8th Ethnosport and Culture Festival, which will be held in Türkiye later this month, Ethnosport Confederation President Necmettin Bilal Erdoğan said.
“Our festival, which provides an opportunity for numerous participants from different countries to showcase their culture, brings traditional sports and various values to the fore every year. This year’s guest countries are Azerbaijan, Lithuania and Russia,” Erdoğan said, speaking during a presentation of the upcoming event, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
The festival is organised under the International Confederation of Ethnosport and is aimed at promoting traditional sports, cultural heritage, and cross-cultural exchange among participating nations.
Azerbaijan is expected to be represented through the traditional sport of zorkhana.
The 8th edition of the Ethnosport and Culture Festival will take place from May 21 to 24 at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, bringing together participants from multiple countries for cultural demonstrations and sporting events.
