One dead after car hits school minibus in Georgia's Gardabani PHOTO
A road accident involving a minibus carrying schoolchildren in Gardabani, Georgia, has left one person dead and several others injured.
The incident occurred when the minibus, transporting 30 passengers from Kosaly school on an excursion, was parked on the roadside. A passenger car crashed into the stationary vehicle, the Georgian bureau of the Azerbaijani news agency Report said.
One of the drivers was trapped between the two vehicles and died at the scene from his injuries. The victim was identified as a 68-year-old resident of Gardabani.
Several schoolchildren sustained injuries of varying severity. Authorities have not yet released official information regarding the exact number of those injured or their medical condition.
Emergency services, including police and ambulance crews, were dispatched to the scene. An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
