One killed in Ukrainian drone attack on Russian Volzhsky area
One person has been killed as a result of a nighttime drone attack on the Volgograd region of Russia, according to ASTRA, citing regional governor Andrey Bocharov.
The victim, a resident of the “Michurinets” garden non-commercial partnership (SNT) in the city of Volzhsky, died from injuries caused by shrapnel from a drone.
The governor said that in the Svetloyarsky district, a fuel tank was damaged, resulting in a fire. Firefighting units are currently working to extinguish the blaze.
He added that in the Surovikinsky district, updated data shows damage to 13 private homes, a power line, and a gas pipeline on Solovyova Street. Emergency repair and restoration work has begun.
Earlier reports also noted damage to five houses in the same district and debris falling on Stolietova and Fadeeva streets in Volgograd’s Krasnoarmeysky district.
