Operation GÜRZ-16: Turkish forces eliminate terrorist in Van Province
Turkish Armed Forces have neutralised one terrorist during Operation GÜRZ-16 in the Çatak district of Van province.
The operation involved gendarmerie UAVs, ATAK helicopters, as well as gendarmerie special operations units and commandos, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya posted on his X account, Caliber.Az reports.

"During the operation, one terrorist was neutralised following identification through reconnaissance and surveillance activities conducted via UAVs," the statement said.
Since 2016, Ankara has launched a trio of successful anti-terror operations across its border in northern Syria to prevent the formation of a terror corridor and enable the peaceful settlement of residents: Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019).
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people, including women, children, and infants.
