Opposition leader: National Council of Resistance ready to replace Iran government
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) is an alternative to the authorities of the Islamic Republic and can replace them.
Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the Mujahideen Khalq Organisation (MKO), which presents itself as an alternative to Iran's theocracy and is the main faction within the exiled opposition umbrella organisation, the (NCRI), made the remarks, Tasnim reports.
She noted that the recent protests in Iran were initiated by the MKO: "They were held at a high level with the help of a network of centres of rebellion. The National Council of Resistance of Iran is an alternative to this regime."
It should be noted that the main base of this organisation was previously located in Iraq. After the US invasion of this country, the MKO left Iraq. The leaders and members of the organisation carry out activities in various cities in Europe.
