Over 20 flights delayed at Almaty airport in Kazakhtsan

More than 20 flights at Almaty International Airport were delayed on January 4 due to adverse weather conditions, according to Caliber.Az, citing Kazakh media reports.

Air Astana confirmed that the delays were caused by heavy frost fog overnight, which reduced visibility to just 150 meters. The morning weather also disrupted operations at Astana Airport, further affecting the flight schedule.

Most of the delayed flights are operated by Air Astana and include international routes to Delhi, Mumbai, Seoul, Bangkok, Guangzhou, Aktau, Atyrau, Urumqi, Shymkent, and Phu Quoc. Flights from airlines based in China, Hong Kong, India, and Iran were also affected.

Passengers are advised to check the latest flight status on their airline’s website before traveling to the airport.
