16 January 2026 10:14
More than 6,000 people with eye injuries have sought medical treatment at a major eye clinic in Tehran in recent days following protests, according to the head of the Munich Eye Center.
Amir Mobarez Parasta told Iran International that the figure reflects the scale of eye trauma cases linked to the unrest. He said the information was based on reports he received from colleagues in Iran.
Parasta added that the number indicates a widespread incidence of eye injuries over the past few days amid the protests.
