Ozon to open representative office in Türkiye

Ozon Global has announced that it is opening a representative office in Istanbul.

It “plans to start active work” in the fall, Kommersant reports referring to a press release from the company. 

The office will be managed by Khazal Marash, who has been working in retail and commerce for more than 10 years.  

They plan to attract local sellers to the marketplace.

Ozon said it sees a growing demand for goods from Turkish sellers and wants to strengthen its position in the local market. “In the first half of 2022, the number of sellers from Türkiye doubled year-on-year, while the turnover of goods from Türkiye to Russia tripled over the same period. The most demanded on the site are Turkish brands of clothing, sanitary ware, household appliances, coffee and Turkish sweets,” the company said.

Ozon Global has also launched partner shipping from Türkiye to Russia. The company expects that this will help reduce delivery times by almost half - up to 6-8 days (excluding assembly).

For the first half of the year, Ozon's revenue grew by 73% year-on-year, to 122 billion rubles. According to the results of the second quarter, revenue increased by 58%, to 58.5 billion rubles, and the company also managed to break even for the first time.
