Pakistan calls for de-escalation in US-Iran dialogue
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has stressed the need for de-escalation and restraint in the framework of the agreement between Iran and the United States during a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, the two officials discussed the evolving regional situation.
“Both leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional situation. DPM/FM stressed upon the parties to follow the path of de-escalation and show restraint, as agreed in the Islamabad MOU in June 2026,” the ministry said in a statement.

Ishaq Dar emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path toward achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to continue playing a constructive role in supporting regional peace.
The two sides agreed to remain in close contact.
