13 April 2026 11:32
An official transit corridor between Pakistan and Iran has begun operations, with the first commercial shipment from Pakistan sent to Uzbekistan via Iranian territory.
Sanalalah Abro, Director of Pakistan’s Transit Trade Customs, told The Express Tribune that the new route enables Pakistani goods to be transported to Central Asian countries through the port of Gwadar and across Iran.
The development marks a new logistics channel aimed at improving regional trade connectivity between South Asia and Central Asia.
