Pakistan seeks Singapore’s help to repatriate seafarers from US-seized vessels
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said Islamabad is working with Singapore, Iran and U.S. authorities to facilitate the welfare and repatriation of Pakistani and Iranian seafarers aboard vessels seized by U.S. authorities near Singaporean waters.
In a post on X, Dar said he had spoken with Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan to request Singapore’s support in assisting 11 Pakistani and 20 Iranian nationals currently aboard the vessels, Caliber.Az reports.

Dar also said he held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, adding that Pakistan and Iran remain in close coordination on the matter.
According to Dar, Pakistan is prepared to facilitate the safe return of the Iranian nationals to Iran via Pakistan if required.
He said Pakistan appreciated the cooperation and support extended by Singapore, adding that the Pakistani Foreign Office and relevant authorities are closely coordinating with U.S. authorities and other stakeholders to ensure the safety, welfare and early return of the seafarers.
