Pakistan stresses interest in strong Iran amid regional cooperation talks
Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a strong and stable Iran, underlining the close historical and cultural ties between the two nations.
The remarks came during a meeting between Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on October 28. Larijani highlighted the potential for Tehran and Islamabad to elevate their current level of cooperation into a sustainable strategic partnership, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
Speaking at the meeting, Naqvi described Iran as a “friendly, brotherly, and partner country” for Pakistan, emphasising Islamabad’s interest in a strong, stable, and developing neighbour. Larijani, meanwhile, underlined the geopolitical significance of both countries in regional affairs.
The officials also discussed expanding bilateral trade and strengthening economic ties, signalling a renewed focus on deepening cooperation across multiple sectors.
