Partial collapse at Snezhkom ski complex near Moscow injures two VIDEO

11 November 2025 15:35

A section of the Snezhkom indoor ski complex in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, partially collapsed, injuring two people and damaging dozens of vehicles, emergency services said.

According to officials, the incident occurred during demolition work at the site of the former ski complex in the Pavshinskaya Poyma district, Caliber.Az reports, citing RAussian media.

“During the dismantling of the building, part of the structure collapsed,” the Krasnogorsk city administration confirmed. “The work was being conducted by the contractor Razvitie, whose negligence led to the incident.”

Emergency services reported that a man and a woman sustained minor injuries but refused hospitalization. Earlier reports suggested that as many as 100 vehicles had been damaged; later, city officials clarified that around 50 cars parked nearby were affected.

“Representatives of the contracting company and the city administration will contact each vehicle owner individually to prepare the necessary documentation and arrange compensation for damages,” the administration said, extending apologies to those impacted.

The Moscow Region Health Ministry confirmed that two individuals sought medical assistance following the collapse of a support structure.

“One of the injured was treated at the scene and declined hospitalization. The second was transported by ambulance to a trauma center for medical care,” the ministry reported.

The Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office stated that the collapse occurred around noon when a large concrete element fell to the ground. The Krasnogorsk City Prosecutor’s Office has since launched an investigation to determine whether the contractor adhered to urban planning and demolition safety standards.

Local authorities are currently clearing debris and repairing the roadway near the site, after which traffic will resume.

Opened in 2007, Snejkom was Russia’s first year-round indoor ski complex, located near Volokolamsk Highway, close to the MCD-2 Penyagino station. The facility, once a popular recreation venue, was closed in 2022 for reconstruction.
