Pashinyan: Armenia building “new relations” with Russia
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that Armenia is developing a new framework for relations with Russia, expressing confidence that the process will be successful due to the openness and transparency of bilateral ties.
Speaking to reporters, Pashinyan said Armenia's relationship with Moscow is based on sincerity and a lack of hidden political agendas, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
“We are establishing new relations with Russia, and I am convinced that we will succeed, in part because our relations with Russia are open and sincere; we do not hide any hidden agendas,” Pashinyan said.
Pashinyan also addressed the issue of Armenia's potential future integration with the European Union, stating that discussions about holding a referendum on EU membership are premature.
According to the prime minister, conducting such a vote would be illogical until Armenia formally applies for EU membership or advances toward obtaining candidate status.
