Pashinyan: Armenia set to launch nationalisation of country’s main electricity firm

Armenia is preparing to begin the practical phase of nationalising the country’s main electricity distribution company, Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), which is currently owned by arrested Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the government’s plan for nationalisation is now complete and will soon be implemented, Caliber.Az reports. 

“The plan to nationalise CJSC Electric Networks of Armenia is ready. Very soon, we will move to the practical phase. The processes will be carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan stated on his official Facebook page.
