Pashinyan: I have another chance to save my family
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan remarked that he was pleased to have another opportunity to save his family, commenting on the possibility of reuniting with his former spouse, Anna Hakobyan.
Addressing speculation about his personal life, Pashinyan said he did not agree with Anna Hakobyan’s decision to separate, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
“When Anna announced it [divorce], I said I respected that decision, but I did not say I agreed with it. Naturally, based on that logic, I made efforts for the event you mentioned [reunion] to happen, and I am glad it is happening. I am glad I have another chance to save our family,” Pashinyan said during a briefing.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Anna Hakobyan publicly confirmed their separation in February 2026 after roughly three decades of being in a common-law marriage.
Hakobyan announced the end of their relationship on social media, clarifying that it referred to their “civil marriage” and not a formally registered union, and said she would leave the government residence.
Pashinyan later confirmed the separation, stating that he respected her decision and reflecting on their long shared life, while also acknowledging the emotional difficulty surrounding the breakup.
