Pashinyan in Brussels: TRIPP project to significantly boost regional, global connectivity
The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) will have a significant impact on connectivity in the region and beyond, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in his address to the Global Gateway Forum in Brussels on October 9.
Addressing the forum, the prime minister said that with peace now established between Armenia and Azerbaijan and progress in normalisation talks with Türkiye, he argued that the region is politically and logistically ready to unlock its connectivity potential, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
Pashinyan said the TRIPP project, which is being developed with the United States and international partners, aligns with a shared goal of integrating the South Caucasus into wider transport and energy corridors linking Europe, Central Asia, and beyond.
The Armenian leader also referenced the August 8 Washington Peace Summit between Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, mediated by USPresident Donald Trump, which resulted in a framework agreement to open regional infrastructure based on principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and reciprocity.
“For the first time in modern history, our region is ready both politically and logistically to unlock its untapped potential and to be integrated into the wider unimpeded connectivity between Europe, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia. The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, also known as the TRIPP Route, is a promising investment project that entails a plethora of opportunities for the cooperation from railroads to energy,” Pashinyan said.
The Armenian prime minister also underlined the importance of inclusive and equitable connectivity for landlocked countries. He also welcomed increased European Union engagement in the South Caucasus and reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to serve as a bridge .
