Pashinyan meets Arab envoys to discuss Armenia–Azerbaijan peace

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met on Tuesday, August 11, with ambassadors from Arab nations accredited in Yerevan to review the ongoing peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, alongside broader efforts to restore regional transport and communication networks.

During the meeting, Pashinyan underscored the strategic importance of expanding ties across the Arab world, stating that his government remains committed to launching fresh initiatives aimed at strengthening both bilateral political cooperation and economic partnerships. He further highlighted the deep historical and cultural bonds connecting Armenia with Arab states, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

Discussions focused heavily on the implementation of agreements initialled between Armenia and Azerbaijan during the high-level Washington Summit on August 8, 2025. Central to those talks were concrete measures to unblock regional transport infrastructure, including progress toward executing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.

The diplomatic gathering also addressed organisational preparations for the upcoming COP17 global climate summit, which is scheduled to take place in Yerevan from October 18 to October 30.
