On August 20, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk in Yerevan to discuss cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
According to the Armenian government’s press service, the talks covered bilateral issues as well as current matters on the agenda of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
The two sides also reviewed trade turnover trends, the implementation of joint programmes, and exchanged views on several other issues of mutual interest.
In early August 2025, Pashinyan held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The discussion focused on Pashinyan's recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Washington, D.C., where the leaders expressed their commitment to pursuing a final peace agreement to resolve over three decades of intermittent conflict in the region.
Putin reaffirmed Russia's readiness to assist in the normalisation of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations.
