Pashinyan: Russian oligarch Karapetyan — FSB agent

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that international media outlets have published “compelling” and “irrefutable” evidence that Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan is an agent of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).

In his remarks, Pashinyan referred to the businessman in strongly critical terms and suggested that the lack of denial amounted to confirmation of the claims, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

“The international press has published irrefutable facts indicating that the Kaluga oligarch [referring to Samvel Karapetyan, – ed.] is an agent of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. Moreover, in response to journalists’ questions, the Kaluga oligarch does not deny this fact and does not state that he intends to sue the authors of the publication. There is only one reason: the published facts are irrefutable," he said. 

"And we must acknowledge the loyalty of the Kaluga oligarch. Even the Apostle Peter denied Jesus Christ three times, but the Kaluga oligarch has never once denied his own security service,” Pashinyan stated.
