Pashinyan: TRIPP framework agreement to be finalised within month
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that a framework agreement for the TRIPP project will be formally finalised within one month, following its initial signing in Yerevan.
Speaking during a meeting with residents of the village of Goght as part of his election campaign, Pashinyan said the agreement had been initialled on May 26 with the participation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Armenia’s foreign minister, according to reports cited by Caliber.Az.
“US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Armenia and, together with the foreign minister, initialled a framework agreement on the implementation of the TRIPP project. It will be finalised within a maximum of one month,” Pashinyan said.
The prime minister outlined that the TRIPP project includes plans to relaunch the Meghri railway and expand transport and infrastructure connectivity across Armenia.
He emphasised that restoring and putting the Meghri railway back into operation would be one of the central components of the initiative, which is aimed at strengthening the country’s transport network and regional links.
