Pashinyan urges focus on modern statehood, not historical Armenia VIDEO
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the lessons of history and their relevance to contemporary state-building in a video address shared on his Facebook page, Caliber.Az reports.
Reflecting on the importance of understanding the past, Pashinyan said, “What lesson does our history teach us? Our history tells us: do not repeat me. And to avoid repeating it, we must read, learn, and study our history. Let us finally admit that we talk a lot about our history, but we read it very little.”
The Prime Minister stressed that historical Armenia should serve as a guide rather than a blueprint for the present-day Republic of Armenia.
“What does historical Armenia tell us? Historical Armenia tells us: the Republic of Armenia — the state you have — do not make it part of historical Armenia. And therefore, the ideology of Real Armenia and the idea of the Fourth Republic stem from the history of the Armenian people and from studying the messages of historical Armenia,” Pashinyan added.
