Pashinyan highlights unified push by US, Armenia and Azerbaijan on TRIPP

15 April 2026 15:28

Despite a complex international situation, the governments of the United States, Armenia, and Azerbaijan consider the restoration of regional communications and the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project a priority, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

Speaking at a parliamentary discussion on the 2025 implementation report of the government’s 2021–2026 program, Pashinyan stated that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan has now been established and has a solid legal basis, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

According to him, the peace has binding legal force, referring to the regulations of the delimitation commissions, which he described as the first bilateral international agreement signed between the two countries.

“Today, students at the school in Kirants go to classes 50 meters from Azerbaijan, and play football 30 meters away. That is peace. Peace is also the fact that in the past two years, there have been no casualties or injuries as a result of Armenian-Azerbaijani clashes,” Pashinyan said.

He also addressed the crisis around the Strait of Hormuz, noting that it would have had a much stronger impact on Armenia in terms of fuel prices, inflation, and supply chains if the opening of Azerbaijani railway routes to Armenia had not taken place during this period.
