Passenger traffic between Armenia, Georgia rises significantly

The number of passengers travelling on direct scheduled flights between Armenia and Georgia increased by 36% in January–July 2026.

The figures were revealed during a meeting between Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili and Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

An Armenian delegation led by Khudatyan is participating in the Georgian International Maritime Forum (GIMF 2026), which is being held in Batumi, Georgia, according to Georgia’s Ministry of Economy.

Currently, 12 direct flights per week operate to Yerevan from Georgia’s two international airports. The sides also discussed the possibility of launching scheduled flights from Kutaisi.

The ministers discussed deepening cooperation in trade and the economy, energy, transport — including civil aviation and rail services — as well as tourism. They emphasised that close partnership and joint efforts between the two countries ensure uninterrupted cargo and passenger transportation.

The ministers noted that dynamic bilateral cooperation is having a positive impact on transportation figures.
