Pentagon may transfer weapons to Ukraine for maximum of another $5.4 billion

The Pentagon currently has the option to supply Ukraine with weapons from its own warehouses for another $5.4 billion.

The US can now make deliveries from its warehouses for this amount to meet the urgent needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield, according to RBC-Ukraine.

Recently, the US Congress passed a temporary budget bill to prevent a "shutdown" of the government. The new resolution does not provide support for Ukraine.

It is noted that without additional funding, the US will be forced to postpone or reduce the supply of air defence weapons, ammunition, drones and other weapons that are "critical as Russia prepares to conduct a winter offensive".
