Pentagon reveals Ukraine army’s losses in ongoing war

Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley has said that Ukraine lost tens of thousands of its defenders, who have been killed and wounded during six months of Russia's full-scale invasion.

Milley made the remarks during a meeting of defence ministers at the Ramstein airbase on September 8, RBC-Ukraine writes.

“During these six months, the Ukrainians withstood a brutal attack on their capital [Kyiv]. They underwent a lot of rocket and artillery shelling, suffered tens of thousands of casualties, including dead and wounded, a lot of civilians died during Russian attacks,” he said.

Milley also noted that almost 15 million Ukrainians were forced to leave the country in the wake of the hostilities.
