Pezeshkian: Iran must consolidate “victory” on diplomatic level
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran must now secure what he described as a “victory” at the diplomatic level, following the end of hostilities.
Speaking at a meeting with senior commanders of the law enforcement forces of FARAJA, Pezeshkian said his country, thanks to the resilience of the armed forces and society, was able “to thwart the enemy’s plans and achieve a cessation of hostilities,” Caliber.Az reports.
According to him, Iran now faces different options: either to enter negotiations with dignity, strength, and in defence of national interests and uphold the rights of the Iranian people; or to remain in a state of neither war nor peace; or to continue the path of war and confrontation.
“The rational, logical, and national-interest-based choice is that the victory achieved by the armed forces on the battlefield must also be completed and consolidated at the diplomatic level, and the rights of the Iranian people must be affirmed from a position of dignity and strength,” Pezeshkian added.
