PM Kobakhidze vows to block any potential Maidan-style protests in Georgia
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has warned that protests similar to Ukraine’s “Maidan” are taking place in Georgia, but the government will not allow such a scenario to unfold in the country.
Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze said the Maidan was financed by foreign intelligence agencies, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media
“These protests in Georgia are also funded by foreign intelligence, just as happened with the Maidan. You remember how the intelligence agencies financed the Maidan and what it led to in Ukraine. The Ukrainian state has been devastated,” he said.
“After a foreign-funded revolution, Ukraine endured two wars. Naturally, we will not allow such a scenario to develop in our country. There is no space for such a development here,” Kobakhidze added.
