PM Pashinyan’s office: Armenians lived for centuries without statehood
Taron Chakhoyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armenian Prime Minister's Office, has said that Armenian people lived for centuries without statehood.
"There are accusations that we are going to remove the image of Mount Ararat [Agridag - ed.] from the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia. Even after the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest, will be depicted on the coat of arms of Armenia, the reality will not change," Chakhoyan, wrote on his Facebook page, Caliber.Az reports.
"The state is not supported by toasts, the state is not built by eloquence and pathos, the Motherland is not saved by burning and hoisting a flag.
And we should be more delicate when it comes to the state symbols of the Republic of Armenia. They are symbols of the state, not the people. The coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia symbolizes the Republic of Armenia, and not the Armenian people, who lived for centuries without statehood,” Chakhoyan said.
