“On the night of Wednesday, January 28, 2026, an intrusion into Polish airspace by objects approaching from Belarus was recorded. The flight of all objects was continuously monitored by the military radar systems of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland,” the post read.
For safety reasons, part of the airspace was temporarily restricted for civil aviation. Preliminary assessments suggest that the intruding objects were most likely balloons carried by meteorological conditions.
The command emphasised that no threat to national security was detected, but such incidents are considered part of the hybrid activities Poland faces on its eastern front. Military forces continue to monitor the situation closely and remain fully prepared to protect the republic’s airspace.
