Poland dismantles human trafficking ring, eight arrested VIDEO
Poland’s Border Guard has arrested eight individuals suspected of involvement in a criminal group engaged in human trafficking, according to a statement on the agency’s website.
Since 2024, authorities have been investigating a 12-member network led by a Ukrainian and a Polish national, Caliber.Az reports.
The group allegedly used companies registered in Poland and abroad to facilitate crimes, primarily exploiting victims—mostly of Latin American origin—for forced labour. Recruiters targeted individuals in their home countries and transported them to Poland through firms registered outside the European Union. Investigators estimate that about 2,000 foreign nationals were recruited during the group’s operations.
In February, law enforcement conducted searches at residential and commercial properties in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, seizing cash, gold, coins, and jewellery worth 3.6 million zlotys (about €852,000). The eight detainees face prison sentences ranging from three to twenty years if convicted.
