Police officer injured as anti-drug raid sparks shootout in İstanbul

A shooting occurred during a police operation targeting drug traffickers in İstanbul, Türkiye.

The operation was conducted at a house in Çekmeköy on the morning of December 8, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish outlet NTV.

On-duty police officer Emre Albayrak was seriously injured when gunfire came from inside the house targeting security teams. The officer was taken to the hospital and is receiving treatment.
