Police officer killed by unidentified assailant in Iran's southwest
An unidentified person fired at police officers in the city of Iza, located in the province of Khuzestan in the southwest of Iran.
The news came from the Young Journalists Club agency on June 11, according to TASS.
An unknown person reportedly fired at law enforcement officers from a personal car. Information about the crime's motives and the culprit's whereabouts is not given.
One of the police officers received serious gunshot wounds and died in the hospital as a result of the offensive, according to the reports.
On June 11, the Tasnim agency informed also about the death of a supporter of the Shiite people's militia "Basij" in the province of Kermanshah located near Khuzestan province on the border with Iraq.
The militia also died after being targeted by unknown armed intruders.
The law enforcement forces are making every effort to detain them.
