Political analyst: Armenia to turn into battlefield very soon
Russian border guards have reportedly been withdrawn from Zvartnots International Airport in Armenia, a move that has raised concerns about the monitoring of foreign personnel and goods entering the country.
This development was highlighted by Armenian political analyst Alen Ghevondyan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Ghevondyan suggested that the withdrawal of Russian guards aims to obscure the calibre of officers and employees of Western intelligence services entering Armenia, as well as the nature of the goods, equipment, and notable personalities arriving in the country.
He further warned that Armenia could soon become a battleground for the activities of multiple foreign intelligence agencies.
"Armenia will very soon become a battlefield involving at least a dozen special services," Ghevondyan wrote.
He also noted that Armenian authorities have been advised to adopt a stance of "deaf, blind, and mute" regarding the operations of certain intelligence agencies, implying a deliberate avoidance of interference or acknowledgement.
