Political scientist Karapetyan: Armenia has no real allies
"In the current situation, we see statements from some of our high-ranking politicians that we are trying to find our independence and security not in Armenia, but beyond its borders.”
As reported by Caliber.Az, political scientist David Karapetyan stated this during an interview with the Armenian media.
“At the moment we have no real allies, no systematic solution to security problems. We are faced with serious internal problems, and both the opposition and the current government literally do not know what to do. Now a vacuum situation has formed in which political forces cannot foresee the development of events. Everything depends on whether a documented peace will be achieved, which, by the way, is being forced by both the West and Russia.
However, it is important for us to understand what our position should be. Our Security Council Secretary is currently in Washington and is actively demonstrating our desire for cooperation with the West. On the other hand, we have an embargo in Lars. Therefore, we must look for a clear solution: either we leave or stop playing political intrigue. We cannot participate in different sessions in different formats, as this creates serious economic problems. Now we are waiting to see what actions our authorities will take. In other words, this approach is not serious. It is unacceptable to first make a demarche and then change your position. It is impossible to sit on two chairs,” said the political scientist.
