Powerful sandstorm looms over Türkiye

According to an interview with Professor Huseyn Toros in Birgun newspaper, a sandstorm will be approaching a number of Turkish regions from Africa over the next week.

Toros warned that the concentration of dust in the air would affect people with respiratory problems and impact their immunity. He urged elderly people and people with chronic health problems to exert caution.

The article states that the impact of desert dust will continue throughout the country until the Sea of Marmara on April 1.

On March 30, the dust will arrive in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, followed by the Mediterranean a day later.

The intensity of the sandstorm will gradually weaken by April 4 and it will leave the country on April 5.
