Premium car sales in Russia fall by nearly 90%

As many as 1,457 brand-new premium cars were sold in Russia in May 2022, which is 89 per cent less than in May last year.

The decline in sales is mainly associated with the sanctioned exports to the country of the entire premium segment vehicles, the Russia-based Autostat Analytic Agency.

So, this is followed by a rapid decline in stocks and the range of these cars.

Most of all, in the last month of spring, cars of the Mercedes-Benz and BMW brands were sold in Russia. In total, the country residents purchased 413 Mercedes and 293 BMW cars. These two German automotive legends are followed by local Audi - 194 cars are sold. The fourth place is taken by the American luxury car brand Genesis. Around 115 such cars were sold in May.
