President: Everybody knows that Azerbaijan must be reckoned with

Our true independence began in 1993 when the people appealed to the Great Leader and invited him to power. Our presence here today, our participation in the opening of the village of Aghali is precisely due to the strengthening of independence.

President Ilham Aliyev made the remark at a meeting with public representatives in the village Aghali, Zangilan district, on May 27, Report informs.

"We've done a lot of work to strengthen our independence. Politically we are fully independent. No country can influence our will, and everyone already knows that Azerbaijan must be reckoned with, Azerbaijan's position must be taken into account. Azerbaijan is a self-respecting state, worthy of respect", the President said.

"Political and economic independence allowed us to live on our own, build a state based on the ancient traditions and values of the Azerbaijani people, and live comfortably in this state," the head of state added.
