President: Kazakhstan embarks on three-year plan to build digital state
Building a digital state is a strategic priority that will shape Kazakhstan’s future, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the plenary session of the Digital Bridge 2025 international technology forum.
“In my Address, I emphasised that building a digital state is a strategic choice that will determine Kazakhstan’s future. The task has been set to ensure a complete transition to a digital format of governance within three years. This means a profound transformation of the state's relations with citizens and businesses,” Tokayev said, as per Kazakh media.
The president noted that the newly established Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development will serve as the main driving force behind digitalisation and the integration of AI into all spheres of life.
“In other words, public life in our country will become completely different, more technological and modern, which, in turn, will have a positive impact on the mentality of the nation, which will take a huge step towards civilisation. I have said many times that our people must look to the future with optimism and not dwell on the past,” he added.
Tokayev also highlighted a practical example of the country’s AI advancements: “Today, I was shown the work of a virtual member of the Samruk-Kazyna Board of Directors, which operates on the basis of artificial intelligence technology. This is the first project in Central Asia implemented on the basis of a national supercomputer and Kazakhstan's large language model Alem LLM. Such solutions are of great practical importance, as they contribute to the optimisation of all internal processes.”
