President Pezeshkian: US struggles to come to terms with Iran’s power

14 April 2026 18:57

Statements by the US administration expressing a desire to push Iran back into the Stone Age demonstrate Washington’s unwillingness to accept the strength and level of development of the Islamic Republic, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said.

The Iranian leader, criticising double standards in the international arena, stated that it is highly contradictory for countries that themselves are involved in acts of terrorism, the assassination of scientists, and the targeting of innocent civilians to accuse others of terrorism, according to Iranian media.

“Claims about destroying Iran’s civilisation are less a sign of strength and more an indication of weakness and desperation in the face of the power, greatness, and capabilities of a great and civilised nation,” he noted.

Pezeshkian emphasised that the country complies with international laws and is ready to negotiate within that framework. According to him, it is not acceptable “to trample on our rights and do whatever one wishes.”
