President: Turkish defence industry companies achieve record exports to 178 countries in 2024

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that Turkish defence industry companies achieved a significant milestone by exporting products to a record-breaking 178 countries this year. 

"In 2024 alone, our defence industry companies achieved a remarkable record by exporting products to 178 different countries," President Erdogan stated at the SAHA International Defense and Aerospace Expo 2024 in Istanbul, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media. 

During the event, also referred to as SAHA Expo, contracts totaling $6.2 billion will be signed, including $4.6 billion in export agreements. Erdogan noted, “This is noteworthy.”

Moreover, he emphasised, “We will utilize the capabilities we gained from the TURKSAT 6A and IMECE [satellite] projects in the preparation and execution of our lunar mission.”

The SAHA Expo International Defence and Aerospace Exhibition is being held at the Istanbul Expo Centre, spanning 90,000 square meters with over 1,200 exhibitors from October 22-26, 2024. This fourth edition aims to highlight Türkiye’s defence and aerospace capabilities, featuring cutting-edge products and attracting 150,000 visitors, 500 delegations, and an estimated $2 billion in economic value.
