President: Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus stands by Azerbaijan in its just struggle
President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar has said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is close to Azerbaijan in its just struggle.
He made the remarks in an interview with Report on September 25.
"While Azerbaijani soldiers were liberating our historical lands in Karabakh, we were praying for the Azerbaijani people during 44 days. The whole world saw that Azerbaijan, having shown will and determination, returned its historical lands," President Tatar said.
He stressed that the victory was also celebrated in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
"Azerbaijan's victory was our victory, and now we celebrate Azerbaijan's independence day in our country as our own independence," the president noted.
"There is a wonderful saying of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan - the world is bigger than five. If the centres of power do not want to restore justice, then we should do it ourselves. The Turkish leader stated that Armenian provocations and attacks on the border are unacceptable, while Azerbaijan calls for peace and reconciliation. There were martyrs in Azerbaijan," he said.
"We condemned this heinous attack, the people of Cyprus showed their support for Azerbaijan. Armenia should come to terms with reality and put an end to its aggressive policy," Tatar added.
