Press TV: Iran sets five conditions to end conflict with US
According to Press TV, Iran has set out five conditions to the United States for ending the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, citing a senior official from the Islamic Republic.
The report states that Tehran is demanding a full cessation of hostilities, including an end to what it described as actions targeting Iranian leadership by the United States and Israel. It also calls for the establishment of mechanisms that would prevent any future military actions against Iran.
Among the key conditions is the creation of a clearly defined and guaranteed system of compensation for damages caused by the conflict. Iran is also seeking a comprehensive halt to fighting across all fronts, including with what it referred to as “resistance groups” operating throughout the region.
Additionally, Tehran is calling for international recognition of its right to control the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy transit route.
The senior official cited by Press TV emphasised that Iran would decide independently when to cease hostilities, stating that military actions would continue until its conditions are met. The official added that Iran is prepared to defend itself for as long as necessary if its demands are not addressed by Washington.
