Pro-Iranian group claims drone attack on US base in Baghdad

The pro-Iranian movement Islamic Resistance in Iraq (Saraya Awliya al-Dam) has claimed responsibility for a drone attack on the US military’s Victoria Base at Baghdad International Airport.

The group’s press office, Guard of Blood Brigade, said in a statement:

“In accordance with our religious duty and in retaliation for the blood of Wali Allah, Imam, the martyred leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei, and in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, our valiant mujahideen carried out today, Monday, March 2, 2026, a drone swarm attack targeting Victoria military base at Baghdad Airport.”
