Proportion of women entrepreneurs reaches 25% in Azerbaijan

Small and Medium-sized Business Development Agency (SMBDA) Chairman Orkhan Mammadov said that the proportion of women entrepreneurs is growing in Azerbaijan.

Report informs that he made the remarks at the SHE Congress Baku, 2023 conference.

“Today we have a significant number of women starting their own businesses. If in 2018 the proportion of women among individual entrepreneurs was about 19 per cent, then according to statistics for April 2023, this figure approached 25 per cent. In addition, among the founders, as well as administrators of legal entities, there are quite a few women. At present, 49 per cent of the economically active population of our country are women,” he added.
