Public Television of Armenia targeted in large-scale cyberattack

Public Television of Armenia has reported a large-scale cyberattack targeting both its broadcast and digital infrastructure in recent days, according to Armenian media cited by Caliber.Az.

In an official statement, the broadcaster said the attack was initially aimed at interfering with coverage of events related to the European Political Community. Following that, additional attempts were made to disrupt the normal operation and broadcasting of its television channels.

“The goal of the attack was to interfere with the broadcast of events of the European Political Community, after which attempts were also made to disrupt the normal broadcasting of the channels of Public Television of Armenia,” the statement said.

Despite the large-scale nature of the cyberattack, the broadcaster indicated that its systems continued to function without major interruption. According to the statement, technical specialists acted swiftly to contain the threat and prevent any serious disruption to programming.

“Fortunately, thanks to operational and technical measures taken by specialists, it was possible to prevent disruptions, and the attack attempts did not have any significant impact. The incident is being handled by law enforcement agencies,” the statement added.
