Pundit: Pashinyan's government changed Armenia's foreign policy vector long ago
Armenian political scientist Beniamin Matevosyan voiced an opinion on the foreign policy Pashinyan pursues on the air of 168Tv's "Review" programme.
"This government of Armenia has long changed the foreign policy vector of our country. It has changed, at least since the creation of the so-called Western platform, the purpose of which was announced the other day in the US Congress," he said, according to Caliber.Az.
"It was clearly stated in Congress that the US goal is to remove Russia from the South Caucasus and unblock regional communications so that Iran has no opportunity to take advantage of them.
Beyond that, have you heard from a serious European organisation or NATO representative that they are ready to start the process of Armenia's European integration or NATO membership? There is no such proposal. The US goal is the following: to create a temporary military-political association in the South Caucasus with the participation of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia. When the US State Department assistant said that they were waiting for the signing of the Peace Treaty, they meant Armenia's joining this union," the political analyst said.
