Putin holds meeting with US negotiators Witkoff, Kushner in Moscow VIDEO
Russian President Vladimir Putin has commenced a high-level meeting in Moscow with visiting American negotiators: Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump.
The talks are expected to center on the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, including proposals submitted by the United States aimed at addressing the ongoing conflict, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Also attending the meeting are Yury Ushakov, a senior Kremlin aide, and Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), both of whom are playing key roles in the discussions alongside Putin, Witkoff, and Kushner.
The meeting in Moscow comes after two weeks of intense diplomacy around Trump's plan, including two rounds of negotiations between the US and Ukraine. Putin has said Trump's plan could be the basis for negotiations, but has suggested he's unwilling to shift his hardline positions.
This is Witkoff's sixth meeting with Putin in Russia but the first in-person meeting between Putin and Trump's team since the Alaska summit in August. It's also the first time Kushner has joined the talks with Putin.
