Putin unifies Russian military logistics under single command

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the consolidation of all logistics services within the Defence Ministry under a single command structure, appointing Valery Solodchuk, Commander of the Centre group of forces, to oversee the newly unified system.

Putin announced the decision during a meeting with senior Defence Ministry officials, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

The restructuring was proposed by Defence Minister Andrei Belousov and is intended to centralize responsibility for the ministry's logistics operations.

"At the proposal of the defence minister, a decision has been made to consolidate all logistics services under a single command. I would like to emphasize that under modern conditions, this is also combat work—fully-fledged combat work. I have made the decision to appoint Valery Nikolayevich Solodchuk to this position," Putin said.
