Qatar has potential to become one of largest investors in Kazakhstan, says Tokayev

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Tokayev congratulated his Qatari colleague on the excellent organization of the World Cup, which became a global event and clearly showed the huge potential of Qatar as a developed and peaceful state, the presidential palace Akorda's press service informed, according to Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The sides highly appreciated the prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, and investment spheres. Tokayev expressed his confidence that as a result of joint work, Qatar will be able to enter the top ten largest investors in Kazakhstan, Akorda noted.

"In this context, the importance of effective implementation of the agreements reached during the recent state visit of the Emir of Qatar to Astana was noted," Akorda said.

The heads of state agreed that it is necessary to intensify bilateral trade and the implementation of joint investment projects.
